"My membership in HLNY and its predecessor, MHAA, helped me create a network of friends and colleagues that has evolved into one of the most meaningful accomplishments of my career. I derive great pleasure in helping these friends and colleagues whenever it is possible. In addition, having peers within my industry but outside of my own organization provides me with a critical resource that continues to assist me in managing my own career. Over the years the time came when I needed these relationships. At that point it would have been too late to try to create them. Having these relationships in place before I need them gives me an important comfort level."
— Sol Torres, LNHA, FACHE, Vice-President of Administration Winthrop Hospital

The Purpose / Goals of These Programs Include:
"I moved here from Texas not knowing a soul in healthcare. My first day at work, a colleague suggested I become active in HLNY and join a committee. Joining a committee allowed me to get to know HLNY and the key players, stay current in healthcare issues and trends, and have connections that will last a lifetime."
– Betty Koshy, Mount Sinai Medical Center"When I look back and take stock of my professional and personal achievements, I am truly grateful for being an active member of the Healthcare Leaders of New York. The organization has given me the opportunity to expand my insight into the greater New York healthcare delivery system and, more importantly, to fully realize that there are many leaders out there who care. They care not only for the patients and communities they serve, but for the legacy of all healthcare professionals, the selfless workers who often times work behind the scenes to get the job done for a better and healthier society. But the greatest testimony is when I hear very successful healthcare executives, who have joined the organization later in their professional lives, saying that they wish they had been part of HLNY earlier in their careers. That to me says it all."
— Lloyd F. Torres, MHA
Director of Special Projects and Corporate Compliance Officer
